Gobbo Sonnets (2013)

The Gobbo Sonnets were composed for an event I coordinated at Central Connecticut State University, where I teach, and involved several events/concerts featuring new works in the Art Song genre by CCSU faculty and student composers.  The poetry for my work was written by one of my colleagues from the English department, David Cappella. The entire collection of these sonnets is a huge, sprawling work, from which I selected four for this work.
